Our Standard Sign Materials: Tried, Tested, Trusted

We’ve chosen three core materials for most of our signs because they cover every need, from affordable, temporary options to durable, premium solutions. The majority of our signs come in Vinyl Sticker, Corflute, or Aluminium Composite Panel. Here’s a quick look at what makes each one the perfect fit for different signage projects.

Corflute: Lightweight and Reliable

Corflute is a rigid corrugated plastic made from polypropylene, and it’s a classic for a reason. Ideal for short to medium-term outdoor use, corflute signs are expected to last a minimum of 2 years outdoors. Our corflute signs are produced from premium 5mm thick corflute panel ensuring added durability compared to thinner corflute materials. We digitally print our corflute signs in our Melbourne Warehouse in full colour with UV resilient graphics.

Great for temporary Event Signage, Site Safety Signage and Construction Site Entry Signs

Installation Tips:

  • Select pre-drilled holes or eyelets for perfect alignment and easy attachment with screws, nails, rope or cable ties.
  • Suction cup holders provide a damage-free, flexible option ideal for windows and glass doors.
  • Industrial-grade adhesives like RiteTack provide instant grip and lasting hold on tough surfaces like brick, concrete and wood.
  • Double-sided tape offers a quick, clean, tool-free way to stick signs with ease for temporary setups indoors.

Vinyl Stickers: Simple and Effective

Stickers are often overlooked when thinking about signs. But our high-tack vinyl stickers are an excellent, cost effective signage solution. With heavy-duty adhesive backing, they stick to almost any surface - metal, glass, plastic, you name it. They are digitally printed with UV resilient graphics and when finished with the added protection of tough matte laminate, it extends their lifespan to 5+ years outdoors. It also makes them easy to clean and resistant to scratches and fading.

A great solution for Security Signs on windows, Swimming Pool Signs on Glass Fences and Wheelie Bins

Installation Tips:

Installing vinyl can be tricky without the right tools, like our squeegee applicator, which helps you avoid bubbles and creases. Just peel the backing, stick one edge to the surface, then use the applicator to smooth from the center outwards with gentle, even pressure. Make sure the surface is clean and take your time for the best results.

Aluminium Composite Panel: Premium and Permanent

This is the gold standard of signage material we offer. Aluminium Composite Panel (ACP) consists of a polyethylene core sandwiched between two aluminium sheets, delivering strength without unnecessary weight. At 3mm thick, it’s durable, weather-resistant and engineered for long-term outdoor exposure. Digitally printed graphics are sealed with a tough laminate giving them a minimum lifespan of 5 years, but are expected to last much longer depending on the conditions they are exposed to. These signs are sleek, sturdy and ready for anything.

Smart Signage Alternatives for Unique Situations

Sometimes you need signage that’s a little outside the box and that’s where our specialty materials come in. Whether it’s magnetic rubber for  vehicle branding or anti-slip vinyl for floor messaging that keeps people safe, these alternatives offer clever, versatile solutions for specific signage needs. Here’s how they work and where they shine.

Magnetic Rubber: Flexible Signage for Mobile Branding

Shine Bright: Reflective Signage That Gets Noticed

When visibility matters, especially at night or in low-light conditions, reflective signage is essential. At New Signs, we offer two high-performance reflective options: Class 1 and Class 2. Whether you're installing signs on public roads, private properties or work zones, our reflective materials ensure your message is seen clearly and complies with relevant standards. Here's a quick look at the difference between the two and where each one shines.

Class 1 Reflective: High Visibility for High-Stakes Signage

Also known as Class 400 Reflective, Class 1 is the top tier of reflectivity. You’ll spot it by its distinctive honeycomb pattern and powerful prismatic reflection. Built for critical safety messaging, it reflects light from wide angles, crucial for roadside and high-traffic environments. All Class 1 signage is compliant with public road regulations in Australia, making it the go-to for emergency and traffic signs.

Class 2 Reflective: Durable and Economical

Commonly referred to as engineer grade, Class 2 reflective film is a workhorse for high-visibility signage where compliance isn’t critical. It doesn’t shine quite as brightly as Class 1 but still offers excellent reflectivity, especially for private roads, property signage and general safety messaging.
